Meta Verified Though Payment on Instagram and Facebook is Available now in the United States

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has recently announced the launch of Meta Verified on Instagram and Facebook in the United States.

This subscription-based service was initially introduced in Australia and New Zealand last month. This offers users the opportunity to add the prestigious blue check mark to their Instagram and Facebook accounts in exchange for a monthly fee.

Meta Verified will cost $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 per month on mobile devices.

According to Zuckerberg, "Meta Verified is rolling out in the US today, and users can obtain a badge, proactive impersonation protection, and direct access to customer support through this service".

If you are interested in joining this subscription service, you can sign up for the waitlist online. You must be at least 18 years old and complete the verification process by providing a government-issued photo ID to confirm your identity before you get a Meta Verified subscription.

Additionally, two-factor authentication is required to ensure account security. It is worth noting that Meta Verified subscribers will not be able to change their profile name, photo, username, or date of birth unless they complete the verification process again.

As an added bonus, Meta Verified offers exclusive stickers on Facebook and Instagram Stories and Facebook Reels, along with 100 Stars a month on Facebook that can be used to show your support for other creators.

With this new subscription service, Meta aims to improve user account verification and provide a safer online environment for its users.

In an email statement to TechCrunch, Meta has reported "good results" from its initial trial of Meta Verified in Australia and New Zealand and is currently reviewing early feedback from subscribers. Meta Verified offers increased visibility and reach in search, comments, and recommendations for users who subscribe to the service in these regions.

However, Meta has received feedback from subscribers that this offering is confusing, so it plans to conduct further explorations before considering expansion of the service outside of Australia and New Zealand.

Taking a page from Elon Musk's playbook, Mark Zuckerberg is introducing Meta Verified to the social media world. After Tesla's CEO acquired Twitter last year, the social network launched paid verification for $8 per month through its Blue subscription service.

Unlike Twitter, users who are already verified on Instagram and Facebook won't have to pay for their verification. Musk has promised to eliminate legacy verification badges, but has yet to do so.

The blue checkmark has been a highly needed symbol on social media platforms. Musk has challenged this concept, arguing that blue tickmarks should be available to everyone.

Although Meta has historically not charged its customers for most of its services, the introduction of Meta Verified suggests that things are changing.

To get started with Meta Verified, you simply need to navigate to your account settings on Instagram or Facebook and click "Accounts Center." If the subscription service is available for your account, you will see "Meta Verified available" under your name and profile picture.

After selecting your selected payment method for the monthly plan, you will need to complete the verification process.
